The Northern part of Tanzania is the country’s prime safari region, known for its stunning landscapes, rich wildlife, and diverse cultures. It includes world-famous destinations like the Serengeti National Park, home of the Great Wildebeest Migration, and the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site teeming with the Big Five.
Other highlights include Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak; Tarangire National Park with its elephants and baobabs; and Lake Manyara, famous for tree-climbing lions. The region also offers cultural encounters with the Maasai, Hadzabe, and Datoga tribes.
Arusha serves as the main safari gateway, with the best travel season from June to October for wildlife viewing and November to May for lush scenery and birdlife.
